stihl 041av ignition

Hey Everyone, bought an 041av off E-bay, haven't recived it yet. I think that it has a points ignition on it from what info I have gotten so far. Can anyone verify that for me? Also if it is points, will Atom "brown" module be the one to convert it with? Thanks in advance. Lee

It should say AVE if it is electronic, but the only way to tell for sure is to pull the fan wheel. If the flywheel under it has holes, it is most likely points, solid, electronic.
I would not give up too quickly on the points. VERY reliable ignition in a 41.
I would look for rhe orange atom or one of the newer metal modules with 2 male slide on terminals.
