I have an 044 that I would like to trade. I'm looking to trade for a good running 254xp or a 262xp. Pretty isn't the biggest concern of mine. Just as long as it runs good.
I love my 044. It's truly a great saw. I've ran 3 tanks through it since i rebuilt it and it seems to be getting stronger. I've replaced pretty well everything on the saw that could be replaced besides bearings and seals. Oem mahle angle fin cylinder. It's an early 044 as the Serial number is 120 xxx xxx and made in west germany. Have the hd filter setup on it now with walbro carb (fresh kit) . But have original zama s5e with fresh carb kit and original filter cover (colours match the cylinder cover) if you'd rather. No cracks on the saw. The only thing I would consider bad with it is I replaced piston with a meteor 10mm. I did this before I read the thread about this subject. I cannot buy an oem piston from my dealer. Saw hates wood and runs great non the less. 165 psi on my tester with base gasket, been vac tested twice and no leaks.
Only looking to trade for above saws. Kinda hesitant about posting this as I love this saw. I've been really enjoying working on the husqys and have a 268xp waiting to be built. Pm me with any questions. Will post better pictures ASAP. (I have a way better filter cover without jb weld on it now LOL)
