Want to Buy Stihl 044

Hey guys, been toying around with the idea of getting a Stihl 044 saw for some time now basically to have as a workhorse for my property..so I have been checking out prices for a while online and thought I would see if anyone would be keen to sell one or put me in touch with someone that may want too..

Why 044? Do you dislike flippy caps? The late edition 044 is the best one for hopping up and it's identical with the EARLY MS440 except for the caps. Also with the MS440 you get Nikasil cylinders while the 044 has chrome plated cylinders.
I don't know when they made the change but it's some time right in there.

Ok, my mistake here, according to Randy MM the 044 cylinder is also nikasil.

I have a brand new set of case halves and a few old crankcases if you want to build your own

I have three projects, a 044 saw in a box, needs a piston and reassembly, a ms440 that Just needs a meteor piston that's ordered and another complete 044 on it's way that needs a fuel tank that I have here. Are you looking for a runner?

...and the combustion chambers are better on the early cylinders.

I'd be interested in the 440 or the 044 that needs a tank, depending on price. A box of parts is probably too much for my skill level. Let me know if the OP isn't interested. Thanks

yeah I pref wouldnt mind a runner as I dont really have time anymore to build one up
