Greetings fellow saw nuts!! I'm wrenching on a 045AV and have some questions. I put a new carb kit in the saw and a lot of trouble getting the idle set. too high of idle cold and won't idle warm. It has quite a bit of power full throttle but not what it should. No hesitation full bore, but back it off and it either idles down and dies or continues to rev fast enough to keep the chain moving right along. I'm now guessing cranks seals, inpulse hose? hell, I don't know anymore? The old girl has good compression, good spark and a sharp chain. Why won't it make wood?? thanks The Hoosier

Impulse hose would be the first thing I checked/ replaced. If it still isn't better, ya gotta find where the extra air is coming from. Vacuum/pressure test, carb.
