Stihl 045

Does anyone have any experience with a Stihl 045?

I was thinking of buying one used, $160.00. What years were 045's produced? Would this be a good choice for an inexpensive larger saw that I will use infrequently? Can you still get parts from Stihl?

from the info i have is the 045 has a displacement from 75 cc's to 87 cc's. My info is thru 1998.

good luck w/the saw happyjack. an 85 to 90 cc saw for 160? get that. I grew up with a legend of happyjack around these parts. I personally never met him, but some surveyor buddies told me about him. Could sh*t across 21 rows of cotten... well never mind.

cheap price for lots of power. Bewre of worn pistons and loose bearings. Some parts are NLA, although I am sure somebody here has them sitting around. Electronic ignition NLA. If All is OK, start er up and hang on. There won't be much running that will out cut you.
