Stihl 050 worth $250?

There is a Stihl 050 advertised in the local paper for $250 and I know less than nothing about the 050.Can anyone bring me up to speed on this saw?

It all depends on what your looking at doing with the saw. An 050 is an old saw and fairly rare.

Personally, I don't think so. but it depends on what condition its in. Much different than the saws made today. These saw have so much torque there isn't much you can do to bog them down. Just keep in mind this is a HEAVY saw. HERE are the specs.

Can you get parts for these? Maybe if you had one with some history and needed parts it would be worth 50. But I'm not a collector of OLD saws.

A lot of the parts from the 051 and the TS510 (made until last year) fit the 050...

Is it worth $250? Hmmm... is an 090 worth $1500, or $2500? hard to say...

You can stil get $200-$250 for an 051, so maybe, if it's in good condition.
