I have this flywheel (1122 400 1203) from a running 064 using the “B” slot and a 0000 400 1300 coil I removed it to replace a seal and noticed that the “P” slot is further clockwise and the “B” slot is further counterclockwise which is exactly opposite of everything I have read about the ignition systems on 1122 series saws. This is from

1122 400 1203 (double keyway) - 064, 064R for use with limited or unlimited coils
Keyway X or B is furthest clockwise for unlimited coils
Keyway P is furthest counterclockwise for limited coils

Which is exactly opposite of this flywheel any ideas on what this flywheel is and what coil uses what slot. Could it be some 064 crankshafts are keyed differently and require this flywheel? I compared it to a 066 flywheel I have and the “B” on the 064 aligns with the “X” on the 066 and seems to indicate that there are 3 timing key slots on 1122 series flywheels.

The cw vs ccw on the key location is just semantics. The most clockwise key slot requires you to rotate the fw counter clockwise to engage the key.

The rest is too confusing for me with like 17 different combos to get right.

The “X” on the 1209c 066 flywheel and “B” on the 1203 064 seem to line up but the “P” on the 1203 064 flywheel is approximately 20* advanced from the “X” or “B” and the “P” on the 1209c 066 flywheel is approximately 20* retarded from the “X” or “B”. The coil is in the same location on both saws so why is the “P” slot so different? I must be missing something because the way I read TI 51.94 both saws use the same coils so how can the ignition timing be 40* different using the same crankshaft and same coil with everything located in the same spot.

The slot that advances the flywheel more is used on limited coil ignition

Yes, I went through this with a recent 064 build. It must be a typo

Here is a Tech Info bulletin I keep in my drawer at work, has helped me multiple times with matching up flywheels and ignitions on 066/064’s1E395DD4-54BD-4C26-AE2E-538ADAB5A34C.jpeg

Hi Dean-o,
Do you have page 2, of this 3-page TI bulletin? It's the page that deals with 066 models. Sorry, I'm new to this site, so perhaps it's already available here, but I haven't been able to find it (just pages 1 & 3). Oh, I did find page 2 elsewhere, but only with low-resolution, meaning that I can't actually read the text, once it's magnified, even just a bit.
As with so many others viewing this thread, I'm struggling with 064 & 066 models that have timing issues, so am reviewing anything (eg. TI's, etc) that might shed some light on the various issues. Thanks for your help.

One of these two?

Yes, absolutely spot-on! Thanks, so much, for posting this, for me!
It appears that I was referring to page 2 of TI bulletin 54.2000. I just didn't know that was the reference.

Now that I can read the detail, I have one further question: is there a cache of stihl TI's that are accessible to arboristsite members, or would I need to simply post my request & hope that someone has what I'm looking for?
That is, page 2 of TI 54.2000 mentions a number of previous TI's that I don't have and haven't yet found on this site.
The ones I'm now looking for include TI 02.96, TI 22.98 and TI 37.99.

Cheers,
