Tomorrow I will be picking up a package of saws and one is a very big 084 in great running condition. I can't seem to narrow down a lot of info on this can anyone help me? My intentions are to resell it and i would like to be able to give a little info when I advertise. Thanks in advance

It's an older 120cc Stihl.

Stihl is phasing out parts for the 084, so it generally fetches a lower price than an 088 or 880.

What else do you want to know ?

It's the predacessor to the MS880 and 088. It's very similiar, yet few parts interchange.

All kidding aside. Great long bar saws. Will drag anything from 24-72" bar.

it shows it wear and tear. but has mad compression and runs fine. what would be a good asking price? im not looking to get rich, im just looking to unload it to someone that will use it. i was thinking 450.00? thers 2 on ebay right now one doesnt run and the bid was was 610.00 when i checked earlier the other one ran and wanted 825.00 so i figured that was a resonable price?

also, what year was it produced? ive read 86-96 or 99 is this correct?

Me and my older son had my 084 out in the woods this evening. We bucked a big Black Walnut and part of a Silver maple. It has a 30" .063 gauge bar with .404 full comp chain and a 8 pin rim sprocket. Had to double cut the maple as it was bigger than the bar.

was on my way this morning to go pick the saws up, and the fella calls me just to inform me he sold them late lastnight. after we had made and agreement and arrangments. i got up early and drove miles.....just for that...not a happy camper!

That stinks. Not everyone sees things the same when they are selling stuff. First one their with the money wins a lot of the time.

i could understand if we had just talked about it, but we actually had a set time to meet and a place and he said they are yours. so therefore i was convinced i had them. if i knew he wasnt serious on that note i would have made the trip the night before. Was a deal you dont come accross hardly ever...i was buying the 084 a 170 and a 210c all ran for 200 cash....im sick just thinking about it lol
