Stihl 088 clutch side bearing

I'm looking to rebuild the bottom end of a recently accuired 088 with an early serial number. Are the bearings

9523 003 4385 and 9523 003 4386 interchangable? I have looked around here and it seems like they are but just looking for conformation..

No, they are not interchangeable. Depending on your serial number you have to take the older bearing or the newer one. From serial number 154 603 855 the crankcase half on the clutch side was changed to enhance service life. The newer ball bearing 9523 003 4386 is installed in the new crankcase half and can only be used for this.

Edit: The older 9523 003 4385 bearing is NLA since 2010. (Part number change identification list)
