I have a 192 rear handle that is beating me. I bought it last year from an auction and it ran good. Did not use it this winter, went to run it the other day and it runs out of fuel after almost a minute of running. I replaced all the fuel lines, primer bulb, and tank filter. I rebuilt the carb and blew through all passages. I installed new intake boot. Still no dice. I am very frustrated with this saw. The dealer says the carb is bad, but he list the carb for $119. I already have over $50 worth of fuel lines, carb kit and intake boot. If I buy the carb I am at the same price as a new ms170! An thoughts on what is going on?

Yes the lines are the correct way, you can pump the bulb and get fuel through the carb and back to the tank. The way the molded lines go there is no way to get backwards. It will start and run for a few minutes and then start leaning out like it is running out of fuel and then it dies. You can prime again and repeat the same. I have checked the pulse line from the case to the handle it is good no holes.

It has 138# comp. I am definitely scratching my head on this one. I think it is going to go in the trading post soon. I like my homelite super xl’s, much easier to work on.

The tank vent is inline with the return line to the tank, I will try to run it with it removed and see if it helps.

Pull starter cover and check impulse line they are bad at popping off. Also do a press vac test sunp and seals are bad for leaking also
Dave has good carbs without acc pumps on the cheap

Carbs from dealers are way too expensive. Get 'em on eBay or Amazon, doing so will save you some big bucks.

The lines and filter are all Orm as with the carb kit. I used a computer duster can to blow through the carb passages, I have a new Oem air filter and intake boot too. The muffler has had the spark screen removed previous to me owning. I am going to try the tank vent tomorrow and see if that is what it is. If not it is going to be for sale to try and recover the money I spent and rid myself of the extra frustration in my life. Life is hard enough with out getting your but kicked be a 30cc German motor saw!!!
