I got this interesting saw today. Any info on this saw would be greatly appreciated. Saw still has compression and I'm thinking about restoring the saw but I'm open to offers(please no low ball offers). Thank you.

David, Wayne Sutton has one of these in his collection. Wayne is the regional Stihl representative for the Northwestern US, and he has a story about the AV 70 that differs to some extent from the above account. Wayne's story does agree, however, that it was released with the AV 70 designation without Peter Stihl's knowledge and that he wasn't happy when he learned of it.
