Stihl ceramic chain catcher for 460, part # 1122-650-7700

Well taking my time and being careful trying to install clip on the catcher, the clip took a trip to who knows where, can not find it.

Does anyone know what size clip that is ? Went to my local small hardware store and no luck finding a replacement.

How you doin'?

Headed to Scotland this week, probably tomorrow afternoon. If you don't have what you need by then, call or pm and I'll see what I can find out or pick up.

John,

All is good, made it through the insane snow season, looking forward to Spring at this point.

7 friends and I spent a week in Scotland, had an absolute blast. Beautiful country, friendly people, very impressive architecture, especially the Castles. We went in January, weather would go from sunny, to snow and then some rain back to sunny in 20 minutes!

Loc Lamond (sp) where the Loc Ness Monster is supposed to inhabit, is amazing, scenery is breathtaking.

I have calls in to 2 local dealers for the clip and a few other things, no return contact from them yet, I will let you know if I am still in need for the clip

I also would love to know the answer to this as I had that same clip vanish from my hands last week. Searched the floor with a magnet and have no idea where it is.

It's not ceramic

Not sure what you mean by this. The clip we are talking about is a tiny circle clip that retains the ceramic roller catcher on the stud attached to the felling spike. No, the circle clip is not ceramic but the roller catcher is.

Hope it's not under the flywheel. You will eventually find it. Kids are good at finding these things it's like an Easter egg hunt. Lol

I have resigned myself to the fact that my shopvac is going to find and dispose of it.

We do all kinds of repairs with small, big and all sizes in between at our shop, trucks, tractors, OPE, etc. The way we usually seat something like this clip is with a socket smaller than the clip. Socket, small extension and a tap or two with a hammer and your good to go.

Today just did not work out they way it does 85% of the time, that clip is so freaking tiny, very easy to loose

I make my own 1122-650-7700 with two nuts, a steel rod that I thread on the end to lock it to the outer spike, a small c-clip, and a length of hollow roller stock. The c-clip wants a small groove in the rod to grab.

Check your closet for a wire coat hanger that has roller stock on the bottom. That works rather nicely, is easy to cut to length, and is cheap to replace. I sometimes add a washer on each side of the roller.

BTW, if you ever saved a spare damaged tank handle, the two collar screws 1128 122 6603, are perfect for the rod that you need. Just cut them to length. The threads are already there.

The e-clip I use that you lost is about 5/32" and yes, they are a bear to find.

Whoops

I think you misunderstood. I'm headed to the saw shop in Scotland, CT not over the water. In any event if you still need one by then, let me know. I can probably pick thru Jason's pile of parts saws and come up with one.

John,

Figured you were taking a well needed vacation after our crazy winter, not a trip to the quiet corner of Scotland, CT:)

Still waiting for local guys to get back to me. 2 days now for a couple small parts, IDK

I just had to go on a witch hunt for this little buzzard myself!

I've got time before I cut jetskier, if you're jammed up take mine and
replace it whenever. I'm in Hamden. G and H in North Haven got me the
kit for $10 if that info helps you.

Big 460 spikes + chain catch came to $45 with tax, it was the $10 shipping
they failed to mention that irked me. (new policy, used to be your order would come
with the shops order free of charges)

Cheers.
