I bought these two chainsaws with some other stuff I got. Any idea what they are? Appreciate the help.20241212_095656.jpg20241212_095702.jpg20241212_095721.jpg20241212_095640.jpg20241212_095800.jpg20241212_095755.jpg

029 and an 044

The bigger saw looks like 046 but better pictures would help. I can't tell if it has a compression release or not.

The comp release is there just broken off. The pic we need to see is the recoil side beside the muffler, a side on pic without the front handle blocking where the crankcase steps down to the oil tank level. After a much better look at the pic provided of the front of the saw showing the muffler, look closely at the recoil side and the straight drop of the side of the crankcase can be seen, barely. Seeing that just now tells me it is an 046.

I can't imagine paying anything for either one.
I like teh 046. Years back I bought (2) at a rental closeout auction for $125 each. I fired them up at the truck with the ole stale gas in them. I paid $12.50 per saw for a Pioneer P60 and (4) Homelite 925's. They were black with oild residue but cleaned up nice. I put fresh fuel in them and all 5 ran. Back in August I gave $27.50 for a Jonsered 111S.

You guys are way more ambitious than I am.
Those saws look like they've been through a generation of arborists and dredged up from the river....... but wouldn't throw them through a window 😁
