husky isn't always cheaper.

LOL! I just looked at Bailey's. 357xp/$500 powerhead only, add a good b&c/shipping and you have a 361....

I know the 357 is a good saw but not cheaper in this case:biggrinbounce2:

If you look closely and compare Stihl to the Husky model that comes close to it. The Husky isn't much cheaper at all.

It's all fun and games until they are flopping on the bank, disembowled by a bear that would run away from a pack of Huskys!!!!!

Chuck

yea this could turn into a feeding frenzy.
I just like to watch them stihl heads flopping around, Not knowing they are on the bottom of the food chain.

Husky dominance has been broken after all these years. I couldn't figure out how all these seemingly knowledged men and women of the forestry industry have been so wrong for so many years running a substandard piece of equipment until late last week when a yen for a replacement saw led me to the local dealer who has 2 brands to choose from. A short moment on the test log led me to a MS 361 and a MS 170. Both have been a welcome addition to the lineup. I guess you guys wern't as far off as I thought. When the snow comes a suggestion for a good bush saw for 24"-30" softwood would be appreciated.

Just would like to know what brand you ran that 361 against ?
Its a good saw. I am just curious what two saws you were comparing

The only 2 times I had a cap leak, I didn't tighten it enough on my screw style Stihl, or I tightened it too much on my lil Echo, which has an O-ring cap and I squeezed the o-ring to much and it deformed. Other than that, make sure they are on nice and firm and it should be good. And you should ENJOY getting the new saws dirty, then you can enjoy watching the kids clean them up! Do they sharpen chains too?

I tried it up against a 357xp which was the lighter saw but not by much. Don't get me wrong I liked both and they both put out but I liked the 361 a little more.

I do enjoy it and yes they would sharpen them if I let then but I just don't know what I could cut afterwards. Butter?
