BTW ,I've been experimenting with the intellicarb of my MS-180 2-mix ( a saw not available in the US ) .Canceling the intellicarb function really helps to richen the fuel on
a fixed jet situation ,without having to replace
with larger size jets.
Even with a brand new ,clean air filter ,
the vacuum of the air box will not allow
the metering diaphragm to fully press on
the metering lever.There's always an opposite
force to the one that pulls the metering diaphragm towards the metering lever.
The intellicarb fuction will only serve those folks
who might take a look at the air filter once in a
blue moon .
For the ones that clean the air filter after every
cutting session and eventually replace once or
twice a year ,the intellicarb is there only
to lean things out .
Me thinks its the main reason that
many ( if not most ) Stihl chainsaws
are "set" lean from factory .
