Confirmed what STIHL's I have.

I lined em all up on the bench and gave em all a good looking at.

Model numbers I could fine, are as follows.

018C
025
031AV
036

The 018C has the EZ bar adjustment built into the clutch cover.

I couldnt find a single Serial number on any of the saws, arent they usually on the right, next to the muffler?

How good are these saws. They all need work to be right, rangine from a jug and slug on the 036, to recoil on the 031, clutch cover on the 025, and crank bearigns on the 018C.

What does the "c" stand for on 018C?

The 036 is worth fixing if the bottom end is solid. OEM cyl/piston will be > twice the price of aftermarket kits which can be had for $100-150. Check to see what cooked the piston first.

Check here or ebay for parts for the 025 and 031. If thats all they need should be cheap to fix.

Not framiliar with the 018.

okay, pulled the jub on the 036, and as I suspected, the piston is toast, jug is also beyond repair.

Bottom end looks great, no play, rod is nice, no overheating.

Doesnt appear to have been run lean, the piston o nthe side opposite the exhaust port, is like new, not a scartch on it, still see the little "rings" on the skirt surface. Same for the jug. One side is mint, one side is scored badly, with metal transfer.

Id guess there was carbon buildup at the port, ate the piston, which ate the cylinder.

This saw is complete minus the top cover and air filter housing. Doesnt appear to have been run without the air filter though
