The european flair for "on" and "off" is 1 and 0, stemming from binary code. What gave me momentary pause was the apparent reversal of the 041AVE choke function. Choke open, requires the lever to be placed in position 1 (on), choke closed requires the inverse function of 0 (off).

The straigtforward approach should have been.

Choke on=closed=1
Choke off=open=0

I believe the intended function was for Saw run/off. The choke must be open and lever placed in position 1 for the saw to run.

Saw off=0
Saw run=1

If you think of it in terms of airflow, it makes sense. 1 is 'on', which means there is airflow so the choke would need to be open.
0 is 'off' which means the choke would have to be closed to cut off the airflow.

As far as a kill switch marked with 1 and 0 is concerned, I always used to get them confused until someone told me the 1 was an I, for 'Ignition'.
