Good deal....seriously consider drilling a few holes in that muffler....I have pro saws, but I have a ol trusty ms250 that I still like to use, damn thing is tough.....mine has been threw the ringer and performs today as it did new 5-6 years ago!!!

Is there a certain pattern or size or method to drilling holes in the muffler? I've heard of people doing it to increase performance but never really looked into it.

I just dril 1/8 or 1/4 holes in the indentured area of the muffler...you can see it when you take off the exghust deflector...::it will not hurt your saw in any way, just help it!!

This thread was the first hit on google for removing the MS250 limiter caps, so I'll bring it back from the grave

What I did was use a dremel and cutting bit to make the limiter cap round all around, so it can't interfere with the little cast boss that it hits... no risk of bending the screws trying to pry the cap off and the cap is still nice to guide the screwdriver into place

Not necessarily, I have never had one come "out" of adjustment by pulling the whole thing off....however if it would give you a piece of mine know it's there, just leave it.....you can easily shave it off with a utility knife, then put it right back on!!!
Pulled mine off and found it touchy to keep screwdriver in place.
Today I cut the jacket off co-axial cable (3/4") and put it where the limiter was.
Now the screwdriver stays 'til the job is done.

what are the adjustments after turning the screws in ? pic great but blank after turning screws in ? thank you for your help
