Recently picked up this stihl ms251c-be. Not long after getting it I noticed it didn't seem to be oiling. Replaced 3 pieces that have to do with the oiler. But now it certainly isnt oiling enough I dont think. Any way to adjust the oiler on this saw?

No, it doesn't show a larger capacity oiler.
What all did you replace? Did you remove the oil lines and clean them?
My neighbor said he got all the parts for it he could order. But idk the line might have been replaced as well or cleaned not sure. He thinks I just need to let it idle for awhile. I'm gonna try that tomorrow morning an see what it does.

Couple of random thoughts, without the bar is oil coming out well? Bar matches the saw and oil hole lined up and bar hole and guide not plugged? You may have already checked but....
Without the bar its maybe every few seconds or longer I see oil but not much. I've cleaned the bar out the best I could it should be good. As far as I can tell it's the original bar for the saw. So I would think its lined up when its mounted an the chain is tight but I'm no chainsaw expert maybe I'm doing something wrong. Just trying to make sure the saw is good to go or make it good to go so I can get rid of it. If I can't figure it out it's just gonna end up in pieces.

I'm not completely sure what was ordered and replaced. I was kinda out of the loop on the work. I talked to my neighbor about it an I dropped it off to him an he dropped it off to a friend down the road. He diagnosed what he thought was wrong an my neighbor ordered the parts. So yeah not real sure.

When I got it back I started let it run for a few mins seen it was oiling so figured it was good. But now I don't think its oiling enough but I'll check it again tomorrow

Just curious as what is not enough. Almost all my stihl's are about 1/2 tank of oil to a tank of fuel unless I have the adjustable oiler turned up on the the saws that have them. The only problem I have had was on my ms250 and it turned out to be a piece of dirt in the oil line.

Well I haven't been cutting with it or running it long since I've owned it. So I'm not sure. From the the saws I have ran it just seems thing one isnt oiling right. Just had it fixed an seems to still be having issue or at least I think it is I could be wrong.

This saw will not pump oil at idle. See pv hikers post above.

The oiler on the MS231/251 never seems to be oiling enough, especially if you are using a thick bar oil.

I took my 231 to the dealer a couple of times due to the "non-working oiler" only to be shown that, well, it did work indeed. I have learned to live with it: I use either genuine Stihl bar oil or put a little (brand new) ATF in the bar oil. That seems to do the trick, albeit a single tank of oil goes a very long time; it's just a matter of getting used to it.

That could be it as well I suppose. Just put some off brand bar oil I had laying around her in it. Maybe I'll try picking up some stihl oil tomorrow if I get some place to do so.

Thanks for your experience with these saws. I'm open to trying anything.

You don't need to buy Stihl bar oil: if you have an open container of ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) just put a teaspoon of it in the bar oil tank and give the saw a good shake before using it. It really thins bar oil.
I buy Stihl bar oil when they have a promotion on it (usually twice a year): it's very good stuff but full price... no thank you.

Yeah I can imagine. Believe I'm out of bar oil all together atm so gonna end up needing something
