Hi,
I have been looking for a new saw for firewood.
This electronic carb and all the features of this saw are quite appealing for a 20”.

How does the industry feel about this saw and electronic-ness.

Ideas?
ThanksIMG_0346.jpeg

Interesting…how so?
Look up muffler mods. Lots of different ways to do it. I also did a muffler mod on mine and it seemed to like it.

I just did 4 vertical cuts on the flywheel side of the muffler and bent the metal between them to shoot the gases forward away from me. Simple and allows more air to exit the muffler. Reset the M-Tronic and it will automatically adjust for the increased airflow.

I have an 18 on mine because that's what I like, but it pulls 20 just fine if that's what you need.

I like mine. I find if you calibrate them and let it idle for a few seconds before shutting off, you will be fine. if you run it hard, and shut it off right away, it will be calibrated for that setting, but if you let it idle and let it calibrates and will start on 2nd or 3rd pull just fine

It was a bit difficult to do it this way. But, with a short hunk of 3/4 EMT tubing and a brazing torch I got this pipe installed.
Shhhh, the screen is (ahem...) missing.

After I ran it a month this way, I got curious. How much did I gain?
I have a NEW factory muffler that I can use for a test. I thought this one out pretty well too.
Use a Sharp chain, and make some timed cuts with the pipe muffler.
Then swap the stock one on, and re-calibrate the saw. In fact, run it (with a different chain) for 20 minutes to make certain that it is calibrated correctly. Swap the test chain on, and time the cuts... I probably didn't gain that much, but I am willing to wager up to 10% tho....
