turned back the idle a couple of times and am 1/2 turn CCW past the H limiter stop to hold the rpms down to 13,800.

The filter I've barely tapped clean ONCE! Amazing. The larger saws in the same wood have been cleaned twice in the same amount of time. Oak, Maple, and Yellow Pine

Did you pull limit cap?

I hate to say this out loud, as I don't want to cause anyone to
mess something up going off what I have said, But I used 5/64 allen
wrench to rich-en up carb. You can hear and feel it click and if done
to much it may strip out the plastic limit stop on H screw.

It worked on mine with out pulling metal limit cap, but not to say anyone else's may strip out
So if you try this and it screw's up don't blame me!

My filter did get a little dusty when I was cutting some dead
White Oak, but the outer was rotten and very, very dusty.
Yesterday after cutting the green Post Oak air filter looked like I had
never used the saw, never seen any filter stay so clean.

Maybe it's the size of the oil tank but when gas tank is empty
the oil tank has very little oil left in it. I think I could get by
on 1 tank of oil to 2 tanks of gas on 361.

Interesting Thread! Ready to sell your smaller saws?

Would be interesting to see timed cuts between your 261 and 200 with 16" bar and picco chain.

I like my small saws, I traded the MS211 in on MS261
But still have MS180, MS200T and MS200 I will keep them.

MS261 will walk all over MS200.......bad

I have 026 and 260 I will run them with 261 one day
and MS200 and maybe 361 just for kicks.

That will work fine. After a while, you might strip out the plastic splines in the limiter cap itself, but you won't hurt anything else.

yup, good stuff. 91VXL is a little better i think. The Oregon has a little less curve to the cutter. They are both 'semi' chisel but the Oregon is more chisel. 30LP is harder though.

Do these chains use Picco spur or rim's? or reg 3/8
I woudn't want to mess up the nose sprocket on my bar.
If I have to buy a bar I won't try the other chains as
I have 8 Picco bars and a butt load of Picco chain

I have been very satisfied with Stihl Picco, but mite try a loop
of something else for a side by side comparison just for grins if
chain will work on Picco bar.

TT, congrats on the 261, and good vids man!

On my 261, Im sticking with the .325 chains...I have to many to change now...;)....picco does a good job though, very fast.

My local dealer (behind the power curve) told me that he didn't think the 261 had any carb adjustment on it. Does it have all three screws like the 441 does? I thought that he was FOS when he told me that, but maybe since they have not gotten them yet, that is what he believes.

A big part of what i do with saws is just a hobby.
But I also get some work done on the farms with the saws.
Our farm had been let go for many years and Eastern Red Ceder.
Had taken over some of the fields, when these ceders grow up
out in fields they limb out from the ground to the top. I have to get
on all fours and cut my way to the trunk. They will have limbs every
4 to 5 inches or closer from bottom to the top. I don't use anything
but the Picco chain limbing these ceders.

I have about 10 acers or so left of these blasted things.
I used my little D4 on about 90 acers of them.
I set some of the dozer piles on fire on Christmas Eve over 10 years ago.
It had come a light snow and we had low clouds that night.
The burnning ceder piles was so big and bright
people for miles drove to see what was burnning and we live 4 miles down a dirt road.

TT, cool, thats sounds like a good set-up for you ;)....I love the smell of fresh cut cedar, yummy!

It don't smell as good to me anymore, I think I OD on the pollen
one time using the D4 pudhing ceders, I like to never got that crap out of my throat
it made me sick for a few days.

Close to 30 years ago worked at a place that used Jim Beam whiskey
barrels to make furniture. It wasn't long till I didn't like the smell
of whiskey. It was really bad to go into work with a hang-over
as the smell of whiskey was so strong in the air. The guys would keep
clean bed sheets and pillow cases to strain the whiskey that was
in some of the barrels, some may have a gallon of whiskey left in the barrels.
