So i have a Stihl ms261c Mtronic 1.0 (with minimal cylinder scoring?), if i find one slant finn cylinder upgrade, will it fit?

also thinking on doing minimal porting and i already have mufflermod done.

seems like the problem was the solenoid on the carb wich caused it to lean out. the scoring is not that bad it still runs ok but lacks some power
I would still vac/pressure test it. Piston has scoring, runs ok, lacks power. That warrants further investigation in my book. And the saw likely needs a piston and rings.

But like i said the scoring is minimal. Maybe i will make a spark plug adapter for my vacuum tester!

Why is there always resistance to vacuum and pressure testing? It is the guarantee that nothing in the motor is causing the issue. A leak will cause all other parts of the fuel system to act up. It cannot compensate for air being introduced after the carburetor.
It is number one if a visual shows no actual signs of an issue.

I just don't get it after 40 plus years of repairs.

Ok off the soapbox now .
