Looking for the piston and cylinder for this saw. Mine only has 85psi compression won't run so i thought i would try here. Always have gotten great feedback and response from u all. I see a few for sale on that other sight but not much oem, just china.
Thanks for looking

The Hutzl kits are actually really nice for china kits. I have used 10+ of them and several of those went back to tree services that thrash them to death... Never got a 029/039 kit from hutzl on ebay with significant problems that wouldn't run right. That being said the bottom case bolts need to be pre-taped to make sure OEM threaded bolts fit. Also the brass nipples for the impulse line tend to slide out. Peening a couple spots next to it with a nail punch works good to keep it in. If you want high quality AM kits you can get a ms390/039 kit from weedeaterman/Randy $110 on sale now. Hyway are some of the nicest AM kits I've used on rebuilds.

That being said if you can clean the transfer off you can throw a new piston in for $35

Thanks alot for the feed back I was wondering if the china kits were ok . How do you revamp a cylinder? if you have the time

Well, price has gone up since last I looked, but here is their shortblock

From what I read here from guys using them, just make sure the bolts are tight! And you know about unscrewing the rear bar stud to disassemble. Two bar nuts, lock them together tight, then unscrew the inner one, and that gets the stud out.

should be various discussions on the site using the search feature

You can clean the cylinder with acid or the best way is sandpaper.the acid can turn small insignicant flaws into large problems or an unusable cylinder.lol

Holy C**P they are really wanting a boat load for those preassembled kits now!!!

Depending on your skill level you don't need a sealed top end kit like the baileys kit. Yes they are a nice quick drop in but they will cost you that $150+S&H. Also I have had problems with their sealant leaking even though these kits are supposedly tested for air leaks.

The Hutzl kits are $70-$80 and all you need is some motoseal or yamabond to seal the bottom pan to the cylinder. There are 100 threads on here with pics on how to do the rebuild. The only difference between the two kits is the extra time to assemble the piston/crank/pan; and that takes me 20mins tops.

I buy this kit in bulk from China and assemble my own short blocks to sit on the shelf for when a farmboss walks in the shop door.

Then all you need is sealer

You just need to know a couple things on any of these kits.
1.) chase the cylinder threads with a tap so the OEM cylinder bolts will work
2.) grab and pull on the brass nipple that the impusle line hooks up to. If it comes out put a little sealer on it, stick it back in, and peen the aluminum around the nipple with a nail punch.
3.) drill and chase the grounding screw to make sure the OEM screw will bottom out. (I've broke the OEM grounding screw off when it bottomed out to early)

If your not comfortable with re-tappi g, I am pretty sure the factory head bolts are self tapping. It will take some effort to get them going.
