Tony,I have had the saw for about 2 years. It is all stock, was used for tree removels and some logging(about 300 trees). The saw itself is butt ugly,no broken parts or missing parts. It has also been on some climbing jobs I had,but it is alittle heavy while climbing for me.I did pick up a ms440 a few weeks ago and it's great. If you don't mind me asking;why do you want a bigger saw?Don't get me wrong I love the shear power and speed that the bigger saws offer.
Anyway I would like 300.00 for the 385xp (tony only at this time)or I would give you my saw and 200.00 for your ms 440.Will send new 24inch and 2 new chains also.Thank you for your time. :) Dan

do you have at least one good pic of the 385 or 372....is she a strong runner?? do I need to have her tuned and set up??

No I don't have any pictures.I did use it this morning to cut firewood. It needs nothing but an operator. It is a good running saw,not quite as fast as my 066 but still more than enough power for most.If you do get the saw use it for a week and IF YOU THINK for any reason it's not a good deal or a good saw I'll swap you back. :) Dan

On the 372 it is a madens power tuned saw with a ken Dunn dual ported muffler. This saw has been used alot and dosen't cut that much faster than a ms440 unless your cutting 24" stuff. :) Dan

Hey TONY,check the 385xp walkerized on ebay(Iam high bid )my saw looks very close to the same shape as that one.Full wrap handle, big dawgsand all the sticker are still on it.Most of the ugliness is scraches and gouges. No gray tape or bailing wire on it. :) Dan

Got the saw today Dan. The bars will probably come tomorrow. You're going to have to help me make heads or tails of all the chains you sent me. LOL. I saw a sprocket in there that had Stihl written on it. Thank you again for the speedy send. Hope to hear from you soon.

Tony, should be a
a 20 and 24 inch bar in the box.The rim is an eight,I put a seven rim on the saw til the chains are broken in.If you put the 8 on you will get more chain speed = faster cutting.the 385 will pull the eight on the 24inch bar easily. So what do you think of the butt ugly saw?Was the box open at all?I sent a 24x 84x.058 bar and 2 chains to match and a 20 x72x .063 bar and 2 chains to match.Should be a bosch plug,a sthil 2.5 pre-mix bottle and a stihl 3/8x 8 rim also.Let me know if any of the stuff is missing. :) Dan
