Glad you made some headway on the saw. You should absolutely replace the secondary fuel line that goes to the carb.

Gotta love rebuilding ms441’s. Glad i didn’t see many. I rode a bike on an event with an Stihl engineer from Virginia beach many years ago and mentioned it to him what were they thinking when designing that saw!? He laughed, agreed and said guess what my current project is?
Not quite anyear later the ms441mtronic version came out.
Will say the mtronic version was much more reliable imo. But still a “pita” to work on.

As I was typing that, I got to thinking about the inside of that 2nd hose and felt stupid for not replacing it. You have confirmed my instinct to replace it.
Why do people hate on the 441 so much? It has worked fairly well for me over the years, and so far working on it hasn't been overly difficult. The only thing I would complain about is restarting on a hot day after it's been off for 30 minutes or more. In that event, it is too "cold" for a quick pull in the ON position, but not cold enough for full or partial choke, otherwise you'll flood it.
Rebuild a 441cm myself.
