I stumbled onto a MS661c with a 36" lightweight bar for $600 out the door.
I didn't have my tools with me to check it out properly, so I walked away from the deal.
The bar was in great shape visually and a cursory glance the saw was in nice shape as well.
I already have a 066 and a MS660, so need really isn't a huge driving force.
I was considering a MS500i to fit between my MS461s and my 066/660, but none of those have a lightweight bar.

The question remains... Is this too good of a deal to pass up if the full checkup is clean?

Yes, if you don't want it I'm sure you could flip it pretty quick.
