I have been slinging a 020 T for the last 10 years or so. I love it in the bucket and the tree. The company I work for has over the years purchased the newer models to keep up grading. In the last couple of years it seems to us the saws have went from great to junk. Right now we have three that are about 2-3 years old sitting in the shop that we can't get to run. We have put in carb kits and tinkered with them but they just don't wind up like my old 020T. Bottom line is this. I am getting in the market for a new (personal) climbing saw. Does anyone have any recommendations for any other brand of tree saw? I am guessing someone must make a tree saw that still kicks ass.

Thanks for any and all responses!

I am getting old but am still not dead!

Not sure what other saw your running but 200t kicks ass.

The new MS200T has far superior ergonomics than the old 020T's all day long, making for happy tendons and cartilages in your wrists. And while the newer saw admittedly lacks the raw power and high top end of the older 020, the improvements in user friendly ergonomics and weight are why my 020T stays locked in my toolbox, and the MS200's are with me in the tree.

I have lots of issues with the new MS200's, ranging from their mufflers rattling off, to their stupid fuel caps, to their kill switch location, but lack of power is not an issue for me, indeed it's that power that helps me overlook their many other flaws.

They are the king climbsaw for a reason yu know!

The most common mistake I've seen folks make with their Stihls is running low grade fuel in them and frying them. I religiously run nothing but 92+ octane fuel in my saws and have never fried a topend on any of my Stihls, which are higher compression saws than Husq's etc.
