ATTN: all Stihl dealers:help:

Can anyone tell me what are the smallest set of matched (inner and outer) falling dawgs Stihl has available. Working on a little project and need/want a set of small spikes. Did Stihl ever sell a small outer spike? Maybe on the 038 or one of the older model 036's or some other older model. Looking for something about the size of the inner spike on the 036/MS360. Seems like I've seen ones about this size on here somewhere before. I went to my local hardware store oops I mean Stihl dealer, no big surprise the guy looked at me like I just asked him for a moon rock. Needless to say he looked no farther than the ones for the MS440. Now these may be the smallest ones they make I don't know, but I got the feeling he wasn’t gonna spend any real time looking for me. After all he's got more important things to do like selling a toilet seat or a gallon of paint.:bang:

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks E.

I'm not a Stihl Dealer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night :jester:

Anyways, have a look at post #4 on this thread:

http://arboristsite.com/showthread.php?t=30541&highlight=(part+1135+650+7750

I ordered a set of #1135 650 7750 ($33) on Friday, should be here middle of next week. I am not sure if your project saw has similar case dimensions, so I went out to the shop and pulled off the sprocket cover. On my 361, the inner dog cap screws are on -/+ 95mm center. I need to drill the holes for the outer dog (thanks for a handy excuse to do that, while it's apart) and those center on -/+ 62mm. If you can wait a day or 3, I'll post up the actual dimensions of the parts when they arrive...

Thanks woody that’s exactly what I'm looking for. Can't wait to see the look on the mans face when I order some of those parts that don't exist.:hmm3grin2orange:

Glad to help

I think they call the part a (roller) chain catcher...

That's what these here I-net forums are all about IMHO: Sharing info & helping others out if we can. I've been on both ends of that kinda deal for 7 years now, and it's a great thing (other than the whole 'spending money like a drunken sailor' aspect of online-supported hobbies.)

I used to counter the wife's complaining with a flippant "It's cheaper than a cocaine habit!" :D but now I am not so sure that's true :(
