Hi all. Probably not the right place to post this and many of you may know this.. I was at our State Fair today and talked to a local dealer.. Stihl is having an across the board price increase august 1.. he didn't have time to look at all the cards but some of the larger items are going up by at least $30 or more.. he told me if i was looking for anything to try and get it before the increase.
just thought I would pass it on.
later all.

Oh and one more thing.. the 460 is soon to be replaced by the 461... many of the saws are going to be replaced due to emission standards.

Looks like Husky is falling right in line with the rest of them with their own price increases. I stopped last week to buy a new 24 inch bar for the 372, almost fell over when he told me 77 bucks. I paid less than 50 for the same bar in January. I would have gone for an Oregan bar but they didnt have one to fit my saw in 24 inch so I guess I will have to shop around for a better deal.
Dont ask what happened to the six month old bar, its far to embarrasing.:censored:
Two stroke oil (Stihl brand) is now 4.10 for the one gallon mix at all the local shops. Makes a guy wonder if its going to be a profitable winter after all. Last year I sold wood for 50 bucks a rick delivered and did okay. Now there is no doubt that I am going to have to charge at least 60.00 a rick to make a dime, and I seriously wonder if folks will be willing to pay that. May end up sitting on a bunch of wood this winter.
Well, at least i will be warm and cozy anyway:clap:

If I were a betting man, at $180 a cord, you will sell every stick of wood you can process. Around here (Massachusetts) some dealers are already running out of wood and the prices are up at least 15% from last year-and its still July. Amazing what $4.69 per gallon "lock-in" fuel contracts do to the value of firewood.

Yeah, I don't use the smaller saws much. I'm thinking 660 or 880 next, probably neither for quite a while. I did feel guilty about the 2 440's for about a minute, if it's any consolation.:greenchainsaw:

It is and has been 150.00 per cord for 5 years at least here
it is not worth my time to sell but I do heat with it. I have a lot
of great hardwood rot!
