Just an update. Went to see the lady to look at her JD Gator etc... and the saw she had for me ( free ) is a Stihl 026. The piston is scored but otherwise in good shape. I tore it down and cleaned it but will be needing a Piston and rings. God i love free stuff!!!!

Tecomec has a real nice 26 piston/cylinder set - great Italian quality and lasts as long as OEM.
