Hello,
I have purchased a bit of a franken-saw that is marked on the handle as a MS 310 with a M.D. of 0110, but the recoil cover is marked MS 290. Could someone look up the serial number of 252433208 to see whether it's a 290 or 310? And would that be definitive for a saw that appears to have been assembled from some mixed parts, or is the only way to disassemble and measure the actual bore?
Thanks for your help,
--Mike

Nevermind -- I called my local Stihl dealer and they were able to identify it as an MS310.

Would appreciate if someone can confirm the following serial number, thanks.

Any chance someone could look up any info on the following serial number. After reading everything, I’m pretty sure it is a 051av electronic from maybe the 70s, but just guessing. I don’t have possession of saw yet. Really wondering if it is so early of a model that the conversion to 075 will be too complicated. Something regarding voids in the earlier models case that the 075 cylinder won’t seal against. I’m new at this.
Thanks

Not sure if this is still a thing but curious if someone can confirm the model of a Serial number to resolve a crew beef. I have a friend that let another guy borrow his saw on a crew that he works with on and off. His saw came back extremely beat up, not as loud, and he swears it looks different. He thinks the other guy or someone he was working with may have swapped the plastics but I'm not even sure that is possible to be honest. It's supposed to be a Stihl MS 462 and the serial number on it says 189212460.

I bought this trimmer at a garage sale 7 years ago and just never got around to fixing it. All the labels and markings are gone. I think the plate sort of says FS 110R but I can't be sure.

I think the serial on the motor is: 260321556

Any info on it? Is it actually a 110R or something else?

So I picked up a saw sold as an 036 (top cover tag is worn off) but I can't identify the serial number and neither can my dealer.
The sn# is 227806996.
Its a red lever 0 series
Anybody have any idea what I'm working with here?

Hello, I bought a beat up 034 with s/n 120012111. Could anyone find out when it was made (+/-)?
The workshoppist site is down, so I don't have a way to look number up anymore....
Thx in advance.
