Stihl Serial Number Lookup

Hey all. Does anybody know of a site to look up Stihl serial numbers? I always used the page at https://workshoppist.com/decoding-stihl-chainsaw-serial-and-part-numbers/ but the page seems to be down...

That site hasn't been working for quite a while, very unfortunate.

There is, to my knowledge, a large thread somewhere here called "Stihl serial numbers" or something along the lines of that. If you post your serial number there someone might get back to you with model/year etc... I believe they are Stihl techs who have a little extra time and look it up on their computers - can't confirm this though

Cool, thank you! Any idea what the "Z" stands for? I've seen it come up a number of times for the MS 200 model...

The Z means spark protection in the muffler. There is a screen in it to catch sparks against starting a fire in dry areas.

Quite unfortunate that the workshoppist site is down indeed, was trying to find out the manufacturing year of an 034 I bought.
