I guarantee the shock is way less than the fiskers.
Interesting. For me there is almost zero shock transmission with the Fiskars.
That's good to hear!!

I'm waiting on my local saw shop to finish fixing my Scag and then I'm going to pick up one of the Stihl splitting axes. I believe he has them. Hopefully it'll be done tomorrow, lawns going on almost 3 weeks.
Its either that or the Helko variant. I like the X27 but I'm sorta a traditionalist. I like wood handles.
?Well, it'll be the Helko. He only carries the splitting maul.
?
The one with no collar?
Can't he order the Pro Splitting Maul with the collar?
Yes, the one with no collar and the simple "wedge in the handle" head.
I was specifically looking for the splitting axe and he doesn't carry the Stihl splitting axe, he carries Fiskars. I know he could order it.....
I have one fear. I already fall under the Stihl fanboy title. Everything I own thats 2 stroke (and 2 4 stroke) units are stihl. I fear if I buy an axe that also says stihl on it my garage will burst into flames.
Its nice to have a bit of variety.
This one?

If that's what you want and like then get it.
I tend to do that too, without even realizing that I'm doing it.I would be all over a composite Helko Vario if side to side force wasn't a big no no.
I use the Fiskars as a pry bar all the time when the head is half way into a split to work it a little more.

If I could find a US distributor online that I trust, Id probably go this direction...
