Mikey Forrestor was the one who got disqualified for the rule infraction of not having his hands entirely on the wood. That cost Mikey a trip to the finals.

Cecil's doing very well. He has great skills in the chops and he's coming around in the sawing events. I can remember about five years ago when he couldn't decide which hand to chop. Seriously, his swings, both left and right, were equally strong and equally accurate. My thoughts are he will be Canada's top axemen within the next two years. Arguably, if you take Mitch Hewitt (from B.C. via Queensland - winner of the 15" world title at Sydney) out of the equation, there's a good argument that Ceceil is the best axemen from Canada.

All the best,
Jamie

I know one thing forsure , IAM NOT CANADA"S BEST CHOPPER
I guess it is because i train so hard, i have chopped 1 block sense being at Webster 3 years ago and it was at a show , for some reason Cecil didnot seem to be scared of me beating him

I know one thing.... I'm the best chopper in my driveway.... as long as Gretchen stays in the house;) .
I would like to be good enough to apply for stihl next year but I know my axes are holding me back. So I need to find some good axes forsale. Jamie did you make the finals this year?? If so please let me know.
Also, who do you like to regrind your axes??

Thanks,
Chris

Yep I made the finals and the reason why I wouldn't was because of my hotsaw and the springboard. I had two atrocious runs in the springboard. One the top board slabbed out on me and I fell. Landed scare on my butt. The second one was an equally bad board, but at least it didn't fall. I had two hotsaw times that were in excess of 50 seconds. Them there types of times hurt in the overall point structure of the series. I'm figuring this stuff out slowly and I will get it eventually. yahoo!!

Chris, to answer your question about the axes - I have several people do work for me and I do some of my own. I honestly depends on the type of wood I'm cutting. If we're at the same show this fall, let me gander at your axes and I'll tell you what I think. Cool?

All the best,
Jamie
