Stihl ts 08s or 08s ?

Good day David here ,hope that someone can help, I am trying to find out, if this is a ts08s or just a plain 08s, of which I have 1 or 2 , but not looking like this thanks regards David

Thanks for the reply , I have taken pic of other side which says 08s , a bit confusing , all I have managed to find out is the rear "extension part" is similar to ts disc cutter , any ideas would be great, thanks regards David

Could be a ts someone threw a 08/08s cover on. the recoil is a fairly new one and the filter is a ts filter.

Thanks for the message, it is confusing, did a Google search once and found the identical saw, also somewhere I had a parts diagram showing the rear extension ,which is the similar part as ts350 disc cutter.

It’s the exact same as the Ts359 air filter extension. the power heads are the same just different side accessories that’s all this was sort of Stihls first kombi tool chainsaws cut off saws brush cutters augers drills all could be done with either a change of the bar cover and clutch drum . Does this have a chainsaw clutch drum?

Thanks for the information really interesting, just went to check yes it's got a clutch drum, same as the 08s, these are very rare ,not sure what year they came out, I think early 08s' are 81, not too sure, especially this one, maybe worth doing a refurbishment, possibly to keep, really interesting thanks regards David

Start of production was like 1965 and it ended some time in the 90’s

Not really that rare to be honest.
still see a few of them that are still running, in ts350 cutoff saw version and chainsaw. Yours looks like later version. Ts350 super. With 60cc engine as noted with smaller plug boot. Someone converted to be a chainsaw in which all you need is sprocket and bar cover/oiler and handlebar -which is missing.

08s are out there the ts350 at least here in Essex county Ontario I can trip over the things.

Ts 350s were the most used cut off saws on construction sites here in CAnada for at least 20 years.Your saw looks to be a late model converted to chain saw it has the newest recoil style and is probably 60ccs the earlier 08s were 56 and the 08 47cc.
If you post the serial number of the saw I will tell you if it is 56 or 60ccs.

Actually I think it was much later than the 1990's but I am wrong a lot. I know the TS760 was much later. I may be crazy but I think the TS350 was still on some of of the South American Stihl corporate websites as late as 2010

Probably was then I think the 070/090 are still being made down there

Thanks for the message, I do have sprocket cover which now has a new oiler, pull start working, looking for a bar, just would like to work out year model thanks regards thanks David
