Whoooooooooooooooooo I'm moving over there and selling my saws.

Holy ^%#$,in U.S. $ too. That would be about $2000 cdn taxes in for a 260:dizzy: Why so much?

They are very protective of their own markets. Wonder how you could get a Shiny for? Probably alot less I would imagine..................

They price imports high to potect domestic goods. I wouldn't have expected to see prices quite that high though. There must be some sort of specific tariff for German made goods?

On a lighter note..... I wonder what the 441 costs?!?!?! Since it's such an amazing machine I would wager it at $3000 at least.;)

The 441 hasn't been released there yet.

Wonder how much it costs to have tree taken down... Imagine what a piston and cylinder costs!

Now I'm going to say up all night wondering what a Pistion is and what the cost would be.:rockn:

Hikes! High tariffs...

Can you say protective or prohibitive tariff?

According to Wikipedia:

A "protective tariff" is intended to artificially inflate prices of imports and "protect" domestic industries from foreign competition (see also effective rate of protection). For example, a 50% tax on an imported machine that raises the price from $100 to $150. Without a tariff the local manufacturers could only charge $100 for the same machine; now they can charge $149 and make the sale.

A "prohibitive tariff" is one so high that no one imports any of that item.

I wonder if Echo or Shindawa saws are more in line with U.S. domestic pricing?

What, no 290.

How in the world do they keep all their boats anchored?

It's listed on the website but I need someone with a much better understanding of Japanese to tell me why there is no price... It might say "sold out due to excessive demand" or completely the opposite...:)
