I keep the thermometer on top of the stove, a couple inches from the pipe.
When burning doug fir, it is near the bottom of the burn zone 300-350 degrees.
I've noticed that oak will take it to the top of the burn zone 500-600 degrees.
I cleaned the stove pipe for the first time last weekend.
I had thought it was double walled but counted three walls.
It's an old Schrader wood stove. Mobile home is a 1986, so dating from that era.
