We've had extreme drought conditions in Northern California. Two days ago my 18 year old Red Oak began dropping it's green leaves and dripping sap from the trunk. Is this due to the drought? Am I going to lose my tree?
No, not that I can tell. It's become really dark though. There's also one section of the trunk that has become ash white. Is the bark flaking off ?
That raintree dude really get aroundHad an arborist come look at the tree. It's stressed from the drought, has aphids and slime flux. Raintree's diagnosis was right. His recommendation was deep watering. Thank you for your help!
