I'm just wondering, what's a bar from Sugi Hara worth? I've got one here, thats a hardnose bar, looks to be a 20" with a mount pattern for an 088 size saw, stihl mounting pattern. nearly new, NEVER used or mounted on a saw, from what I can tell. just some light surface rust on it. it has the following numbers on it, ST15 6353 8400 0300 its a .050 gauge bar.

i carry sugi hara bars in carving sizes for guys. had alot of compliments on them.

Total bars from Tilton are (or at least used to be) Sugi-hara.

heat-treating was a little too hard on one batch a few years ago; I had one on a Jonsered 70E that cracked and spalled some pieces off the rails within the first few minutes of use.

Dealer made it right without question though.

My little Olympyk 951 came with a Total bar, and it (the bar) isn't worth the lousy paint job they put on it. If it's a Sugi-hara, I wouldn't recommend buying one of the cheap ones.

The one I've got here looks to me like a fairly high end bar. the only paint on it is the paint used to put the name on it. its also a solid steel type I should add. I got it from a friend who just gave it to me, figuring it would fit one of my saws, which it doesnt.

I'm hoping someone has a use for it, maybe someone with a large Stihl 07, 08, 050,051, 070, 075/76, 084 088, 090 or a dolmar 122, 123, 143,144, 152, 153, or 166 could use it. it will fit any saw using that mounting pattern. I have no use for it. anyone that wants it, make me an offer.

Sugi-Hara made one of the best long falling bars ( 28" to 42" ) in the 70's and 80's, in fact they were as good as a Cannon bar at the time. Their consumer division is Tsumara and they still make long bar that is comparable to the Oregon "Lightweight" bar under the Tsumara brand name.
