Super 038 chain brake trouble

I have a copy of the IPL manual. As you all know it shows parts and their number. The hand guard is broken off. I can not get the barke band off. so I put all the parts back and will not work. It will not hold the brake band on the clutch drum I need some one to go through it step by step to make it work.

I have 026 that the chain brake stays on all the time. It will not click when hand guard is in the position for brake band to be off clutch drum. Need help As the saying about Muurphy Law is if any thing can go wrong it will.

In order to pull the chainbrake band off your 038 you will need to pull out the pin (ref #14, part # 1119 162 5205). The pin is just friction fit into a hole in the side of the crankcase.
