Have the points all dressed up and ready to go, but where? What's the recommended gap? I don't have any specs and am trying to get it going again. It was a freebie, but most of mine are!

I'm guessing about .014". That's what I'll try if I don't hear from somebody before my patience runs out. (Haven't got much.)

Breaker point gap should be 0.015" and must be correct or ignition timing will be affected. Condenser capacity should be about 0.2 mfd. Air gap between flywheel and coil should be 0.015". Spark plug gap 0.025"

Thanks Mike and Ray. I started cleaning things up while waiting for replies here and got a refresher that Wico always put the point gap numbers on the cover to the points compartment! So I did set the points at .015, just as you said. Got good spark now but got to get some sleep, so won't try to fire it up now. I had it trying to run before I tore into it. The points were pretty pitted and oxidized besides being gapped wrong and the coil core was rubbing on the flywheel. All better now.

Thanks again

Jim
