Just got both a new 540XP (Rear Handle) and a new T435 (Top Handle) and what to me seems kinda backwards the T435 came with a 3/8 mini pitch .050 gauge with a 14" X-Force Bar, and the 540XP came with a .325 with .043 gauge with a 14" X-Precision bar... That just seems backwards to me, I'd rather have the finer cut and X-Precision bar on the top handle T435 and vise versa, especially since I'd like to eventually run full-chisel on the 540XP.
So I was wondering if I could simply swap the Spur, Bar, and Chains between the two saws? I think I read that the 540XP has an oil pump driver on it's spur but didn't see any information about that yes or no for the T435.
I also know the 540XP on Huskys website actually lists a 3/8 mini with .050 as an option with either Spur 6 or Spur 7 (forgot which spur size went with which setup) but the T435 doesn't list any optional sizes, though if they both have the same sprocket (with the oil pump driver if needed) I don't see why it couldn't be done. Or worse case buy a new appropriate Spur for each and still be able to swap over the bars/chains between them, although if I was going to do that I might prefer to go with regular 3/8 on the 540XP but don't know if a regular 3/8 spur will work correctly with a 3/8 mini chain and sprocket (I feel the sprocket wouldn't set correctly but admit it's been a very long time since I have messed with 3/8 mini at all, all my other saws besides these two are regular 3/8 so I have a lot of regular 3/8 chain).
Anyone know if simply swapping the spurs/bars/chains between these two would work, or what sprocket #'s I'd need to make it work?
