Looking to purchase a new climbing rope. Thinking about either the New England tachyon or Yale imori. Toughness and durability is more important 2 me than being lightweight or like for competition, but if it had all these qualities that would b great 2. What would you guys recommend??

I run Imori. It's awesome. I ran tachyon but the stuff does not hold up well. Especially if it catches a tooth on your climbing saw.

If you're looking for toughness and durability I wouldn't buy either of those ropes. Get something a bit bigger, like new england hi vee. It's easier to hold on to being that little bit bigger too.

If you're looking for a good all rounder that can also be used for SRT or with mechanical devices then take a look at poison ivy/blue moon.

Imori is to grabby with a rope (VT) friction hitch, I would take a look at samson vortex 12.7mm climbing line, easy on hands and super strong.
