Looks like they are having a few really good lectures this year

Highway destruction is at a minimum, but for those of you who think they know how to get around, the new rework of the downtown interchange will confuse things. My GPS does not work with it either. Signage is good, so keep an eye out.

If anyone needs help finding a cheaper hotel, give me a call, PM or email. I can tell you where the better locations are, and what will be a long drive. Though most of the time everything is less then a half hour away here.

Thou you may want to look through one of the discounter sites first to see what and where fit your budget.

Bow season lasts from around Sept. 20th to Jan. 1st. The peak of the rut is around Nov. 5th-10th. It's still great hunting up to rifle season which starts around Nov. 20th-29th. I take a week off work for the rut each year, the last 3 years I have walked into the woods and shot a buck off the ground with the bow, not as easy as it sounds but can be done consistently during rut if your on your game.

Wow, that post got derailed fast. I'm not happy about it being here this year. Its my one reason to take a trip. Uh John, was it your turn to buy? Pete

John, is it there every year, first week of Nov, or does it go all over? I was waiting for you to post too, wanted to go, can't give up the rut though:confused:

Dag yalls deer seasons are different then ours down here in va. bow season starts here in october then black powder first 2 weeks of nov and mid november till first week in jan its general firearms season

Well, I could give a #### less about deer season...if you want a deer kill one...do you think the indians gave a #### about what date it was...

It needs to get down to the single digits for me to happy...then the ducks and geese come our way.

We got so many of the dang things it gets weird. I think the season should be longer...

For more information, maybe you can get Nels to Guide you for a small monetary donation to his home improvement fund.

Looks like he is in the October extended gun season. My wife will not eat game, so I don't hunt. I probably would if there were someone to take the body. I'd like to use the Springfield hanging in the closet.

hey J.P. you can always donate the meat to your local food bank:clap: ....well at least in Michigan not sure about Wisconsin

Yes you can in Wisconsin too. We have a list of people that want deer every year. Low income types with lots of mouths to feed. I love it when I can pull up an hand them a venison all quartered, makes me feel good.

I am going!! I will land about 2 on Thursday. And am leaving at 9 on Saturday. I have plans with Sherrill (invited and why I actually am going) on Thurs but would love to get with some of you guys on Friday. Anyone up for it? If you don't get a hold of me. I will be wearing a white shirt with a target on my back!!! LOL JPS. I would love to buy you a beer and I have a shirt I made for you over a year ago too. So for sure let's get together.

It may also be a chance for me to meet others and for you. Whether you might like me or not let's have a beer over it.
Anyone else going? BTW- Why can't they have it where the weather is worth a damn?

JPS would like your recommendations on hotels. I would like to be close to where the event is as long as they have a night life area we could go too. I just don't want to drive to the nightlife. It isn't worth it. It is worth paying more for the hotel for me.

Excited to meet you all!!!!

I'll have to remember the ones I promised you all those years ago

I looked at several of the hotel search sites and if price is not too much of a problem then the Hyatt or the intercontinental are the two that fit your requirements the best. Hyat listed for $150, IC for $195 (hotwire had a 3 & 4 star in the area for under $100)

Most of the nightlife is on Water Street, just east of the river and the convention center is 4 blocks from the river. Hyatt is closer to the convention and the IC is close to the nightlife.

There are several other good hotels that are longer walks or short cab/bus rides

Here is the weather forecast, it will be cool, but the humidity will be higher then you are used to, so dress warm. 40* will seem a lot colder with the damp wind.

Compared to Denver, our traffic is a cakewalk.
