I want to throw a huge thanks to all members who are out battling or have battled our many forest fires.
Last week at our elk camp in eastern WA I witnessed a very intense lightning storm. I was told by one of the fire bosses that there was some 5 thousand strikes from the Columbia to Canada( so I was told). I had the privilege of witnessing what lightning does to pine and tamarack trees and just how fast these fires start up.
The men and women of our wildland crews are truly great. Thanks again to all who protect our forests so we all can enjoy our forests or have jobs in them.
