We have had are differences here and there as many have with Dan but I got to give him a hats off. When Dan is not pulling someones chain on here he can give some knowledgeable advise. Well to get to the point in a post a while back some discussion was had about the loadhandler. Well I always thought that thing was a joke but we got in a bind chip truck down and some jobs that needed to be done. I remembered Dan had posted stating that in a pinch they actually work really well and even though we may never exchange Christmas cards I respect the hell out of the Dans tree knowledge and many others here. With nothing else I could do I tossed some 2 x 10s on the back of my Dodge Cummins and a loadhandler in the back. Today was the first test on using it for chips. chipped two medium hemlocks and a good size birch was probably around 4 yards of chips in all. The loadhandler worked flawlessly and actually shocked the hell out of me. Its no replacement for a dump obviously but in a bind it gets the job done very well for small jobs.

Thanks Dan

Well its not like I invented the thing but thanks. I about dropped when I saw that it actually worked myself. Cheap too. I keep one around for emergency. Every night before I go to sleep I go over my checklist: Gun under bed- check, fire extinguisher by night stand- check, Loadhandler in shed- check.

I see they have what is called The Rollerboard. Looks interesting.

Yeah I saw that but I have a Harbor Freight down the street and the loadhandler was $89. I could never use it again and I got my money out of it.

I am pretty sure a half decent ensilage fork goes for around 89 bucks but they aren't that fun to unload a truck with. Sucks when the dump truck breaks down. What was the matter?

I think my neighbor (meter maid by day) used one of those in the back of his S-10 when he took down his own trees. He rented the little vermeer from the local hardware store.
