That Other Weboard

For those of you not on Tom D's email list, he contacted Paul Harter of ISA about the crappy perfomance of the Associations weboard.

It seems that a virus trashed the server and they just got their e-mail back up. They were not aware how much the site ment to many of the membership and profusely apologise for the inconvieniance. They are just starting to brainstorm as to how to make it more stable, even going as far as getting another serversite.

In other words we will not be seeing it for a while.

Hope they were able to salvage the archives!

Is there another webboard other than arboristsite? They should just have me handle it and just link back and forth. But that will never happen. Wish it could but.......

Very nice thinking again, but perhaps diffrent personalities of boards is good too!

i think you are doing excellent job; with a very nice layout, and i'm very loyal to the 'other' board, but being down so often, so long is really out of line! Just the distrubance of flow of ideas is almost a crime to me! It also seems to me that this is about the 3rd time or so they have had VIRUS (Vital Information Resources Under Siege!) problems. Hmmmmmmmm; can anyone think of a solution to that besides allowing it to happen again and again? And if it did; wouldn't restoring a clean back-up take care of it? i don't know if 'Go Back' from Adaptec would handle this situation; but maintaining and restoring backups should be quick cure, is that too simple?

o, i accidentally copied about all posts to CD of 'other' board for 1yr.+ back, some inter-arresting stuff buried in there; easily searchable through standard windows find tools. Tom, Murph have a copies, might even have a spare hear.............

i hear on radio about Tree-Zen being a cap-it-tall crime; and y'all that read my chit know how i must feel about that!

Don't bowl guard that... Oh I can't smoke with this Asthma..

Caffien's my drug of choice. Though I'm beginning to think I'm hooked on Naproxin. I feel crappy and ache all over if I don't take it every morning.

Or is that why I'm supposed to take it??
