In Everybodys Experence What Saw Has More Guts And Will Handle A Larger Bar The 036 Or 346xp

50 threads on this subject already. search '361' or 'best saw' or something similar...

Hi bobc Its 2 different class of saw not hard to figure the 036/361 should its a bigger engine and more power, both saws are at the top of their respective food chain.

There are hours of reading on here about this subject have fun searching for either the best 50cc or 60cc and go from there! :)

350 Husky

If you can still find one, get the 350 Husqvarna and save some money. Good all-around tree/bucket/ground saw.

Since you're looking for a quick answer...

The 036 is a 63cc saw. It will pull a 24inch chain, but won't perform nearly as well as with the 20 inch combo.

The old 346xp was 45cc, and the new one is 50cc. Either way "there's no replacement for displacement".

You can cut with the 346 all day, but an 036 will wear you down due to the power and weight difference. I own both. They both have advantages and are both awesom saws, but they are not in the same category.

If your question is "which one do I get", do the searches suggested above.

Best of Luck,

TT

036 Vs 346xp

Thanks Everyone For The Replys I Just Wanted To Hear From The Best In This Field I Thought Both Saws Were Close In Size Reading Up On Them And Owning Them Both Being The 346xp More Of A (huskys Pro Version Saw)and Higher Rev Saw That Would Hands Down Have It Over The Stihl.

The comparable Husky is the 357...which gives away 4 cc to the 361, but has about the same power. both are great pro saws.

The venerable 026 compares to the old 346, but is less good, and the 346NE will blow its doors off, I've heard.

Think you could lose the caps. save for where they belong?.....

Thanks For The Reply I Will Keep That In Mind And Your Online Photos Were Fantastic Great Job

the 361 is a nice saw.i will give it that.

i was impressed for a Stihl.what confused me was after all the years of hearing how Huskies have too much plastic, the 361 perplexed me.even the top handle was plastic.it did cut great though but those caps just drive me bonkers.i have to tolerate them on my climbing saws but that is as far as it goes.

my hands are just to used to the husky feel.i sold the 361 after 2 months.i have had the 346xp NE for almost a year and i ain't getting rid of it.ever.

I had to replace my 346 after 5 years or so of use, and I got it used on top of that. The nearest Husky dealer is a crock of scat, saws are not important to them and take forever to get repaired.

So I asked the Stihl boys at the TCIA expo which saw is comparable, I want a good P:W for up in the tree. I ran an 18in narrow curf on the 346 and loved it.

.... so I got a 260. Just does not cut or run anywhere near as good as thee 346. Though it is running standard chain...

If I bump up a model the wieght goes up....

and 500 post telling people to search..............

the 036 will hold a bigger bar than the 346.

But what about the weight difference and proposed use? Sounds like an all around bucking limbing saw he is looking for. My reason for going with the 026 the other week was the weight

I was going to cut and paste comparison numbers, but the Husky USA site will not load for me now, and I have a 1/2 hour to leave for the final exam in the sole course I took this semester.

I like my 350, the thing just won't die. Sure it isn't going to win any races but it does run good and is a dream to handle. The trusty 350 has been dropped from the tree once or twice, gets banged on the tree when getting roped up or down, and it still runs and cuts like new.
