Sorry to ask this here, but how are you folks getting your documents into pdf format?

I have a magneto service manual (tractor) that is in 60 different jpg files and I want to convert it to a single pdf file. I have one version (using WordPerfect), but it is time consuming and the pdf file is over twice the size of the individual files.

Somehow I can see myself needing to scan documents into pdf files on many occasions in the future, so I may as well learn how to do it quickly and easily.
