the best way to attach a portawrap?

hi can someone tell me whats the best way to attach a portawrap to a tree? thanks mat.
 
Those hitches will work, but my favorite is the Clock Hitch.
It allows you to easily move the port-a-wrap around the tree to whatever position is best for each use.
The attached picture shows, on the right side, a spliced eye, the rope running through it and then terminated with a Clove Hitch or double Half Hitch.
 
Glenn Riggs described the clock hitch to me in an email over ten years ago. That is my #1 choice, #2 is cow and timber rarely gets used because it can loosen up if the load isn't 'on' at all times. Not a good choice for treework.

That's pretty funny. The "timber" hitch is not a good choice for tree work. :monkey:
